Paper Cups – The Colin Whittaker Band

The Colin Whittaker Band have released the new single ‘Paper Cups’, and it has gone down a treat with fans internationally. The Reggae infused track talks about a day in the life of the frontman Colin Whittaker, with a humorous touch to it. There is a mention of the war in Ukraine in there, with the band showing their major distaste for what is going on in the far east. This has definitely struck a note with those in Ukraine, with the country accounting to over 89% of all plays of the song.

The title of the song is one to remember. The term Paper Cups refers to a time when a few of the members of the band had an interview with TuneSick at their London office. As the band was travelling from Leeds – all the way from the north – they treated themselves to some champagne on the train. But they were using paper cups to drink out of, instead of the champagne glasses you would normally use. The life of a rackstart, it was definitely a fun journey!

I did not think they could make an even better song to improve on their previous single Back To Moscow, which also really went down well. However, this song beats that hands down for me, the drums and Reggae beat on this track just does it. Listen to the song for yourself below and enjoy.
