The new single by the Colin Whittaker Band has finally arrived. The eagerly awaited song has taken around 6 months of working together and recording, mainly all at the studio in Leeds. The song was made by the band members Colin on the flute and guitar and as the lead singer, Will on the keys, Mike on the drums plus featuring the amazing spoken word from Dancer Longsleeves.
The song is actually a charity and tribute song, raising support and awareness for the ongoing war in Ukraine. Russia’s invasion of the country sparked national and international outrage and condemnation, particularly amongst Ukrainians. The band have very close ties and an affinity with the country, with close friends coming from there. The band said that ”they completely disagree with what is going on, we want to support and get behind everyone affected. Please download or stream the song as all proceeds will be going direct to Unicef who are currently helping to rehouse the displaced children of the conflict”.
The song was officially released on the 15th February on all digital streaming platforms. It will be followed by a special interview with the band dueto take place in the next few weeks and to be aired on the first episode of TuneSick Select in March, the new monthly show back for its third year.
